The two-day event at NIT-Calicut brought together top academicians, signed key mentoring agreements, and focused on strengthening collaboration for effective implementation of the National Education Policy 2020.
Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chairman of the National Board of Accreditation and former Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education, inaugurated a two-day national conclave on ‘Implementation of NEP 2020: Moving Towards Academic Excellence’ at Swami Vivekananda Auditorium, West Campus, NIT-Calicut (NIT-C) on April 25.
The event was chaired by NIT-C Director Prasad Krishna.
Bringing together top minds in higher education, the conclave features prominent speakers such as Ved Prakash, former Chairman of the University Grants Commission; A Seshadri Sekhar, Director of IIT Palakkad; B Ravi, Director of NITK Surathkal; and Prem Lal Patel, Director of VNIT Nagpur.
Their participation underscores the conclave’s mission to strengthen collaboration and promote knowledge sharing between Centrally funded institutions and State/UT governments for the successful implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
As part of its commitment, NIT-Calicut has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Education to mentor six universities in Kerala — the University of Calicut, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kerala University of Digital Sciences, Innovation and Technology, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Science University (Wayanad), Kerala University of Health and Allied Sciences, and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University.
The conclave has drawn significant participation, with 48 delegates from these universities and representatives from other leading institutions, including IITs and NITs.
In addition, more than 225 faculty members from various NIT-C departments are actively engaged in the discussions.
