Incidents reported from multiple states included late arrivals, documentation discrepancies, and incomplete biometric verification, preventing some aspirants from appearing despite reaching their examination centers.

Several candidates across India were unable to appear for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination after being denied entry to examination centers or failing to complete mandatory verification procedures despite extensive preparations for the test.
In Madhya Pradesh's Vidisha district, a candidate missed the examination after reaching the center shortly after the reporting deadline.

Officials reportedly allowed her into the premises, but biometric verification could not be completed within the prescribed operational window, preventing her from taking the test.
The candidate had been delayed due to adverse weather conditions and travel-related issues, according to her family.
The Vidisha center also reported other cases involving candidates who could not appear for the examination due to late arrival and documentation-related problems.
In Telangana, Hyderabad City Police arrested an 18-year-old NEET aspirant for alleged malpractice during the examination. Investigators said the candidate had concealed a mobile phone inside a washroom at an examination center in Ragannaguda before the test began.
He was allegedly found accessing the device during the examination. Police seized the phone and registered a case following a complaint from the school administration. Further investigation is underway.
Elsewhere, candidates in several states reportedly faced difficulties linked to reporting deadlines, verification requirements, and examination center-related confusion.
In Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad, some candidates were unable to reach their allotted centers before the cutoff time after reportedly being directed to incorrect locations.
In another case, a candidate who met with an accident while traveling to an examination center was denied entry after arriving late.
At an examination center in Bengaluru, three candidates who reached after the reporting deadline were unable to take the examination after entry procedures had concluded. Similar incidents were reported from Mumbai, where late-arriving candidates were denied entry in accordance with examination rules.
The National Testing Agency conducted the NEET UG 2026 re-examination at thousands of centers across India and abroad under heightened security arrangements.
The process included biometric authentication, document verification, frisking, CCTV surveillance, and other monitoring measures aimed at ensuring the integrity of the examination.
Authorities maintained that the examination was conducted according to established guidelines, which required candidates to complete all entry formalities before the stipulated deadline.
Candidates were repeatedly advised to report well in advance to accommodate security checks and biometric verification procedures.
While officials emphasized the need for uniform implementation of examination rules, the incidents have drawn attention to the challenges faced by some candidates who were unable to complete the admission process despite reaching centers close to the reporting cutoff time.
