Candidates who registered for counseling can finalize and lock their preferred medical and dental colleges and courses by 11:59 pm, with seat allocation to follow under the revised schedule.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has extended the Round 1 choice-filling deadline for NEET UG 2026 counselling to 11:59 pm on Aug 18.
The revised deadline was announced in an official notice issued by the MCC on Aug 17. Candidates who have registered for the counseling process can now submit and lock their preferred choices within the extended timeline.

The choice-locking facility opened at 5:30 pm on Aug 17.
The MCC, under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), advised candidates to regularly check its official website for updates on the counseling schedule.
The extension provides candidates additional time to select their preferred medical and dental colleges and courses before Round 1 seat allocation.
Candidates must complete both choice filling and locking by 11:59 pm on Aug 18, as the facility will close after the revised deadline.
