Over 12.36 lakh candidates qualified for NEET-UG 2025, with Rajasthan’s Mahesh Kumar securing the top rank while Delhi’s Avika Aggarwal emerged as the highest-ranked female candidate.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2025 on June 14, with over 12.36 lakh candidates qualifying for the country’s largest medical entrance examination.
Mahesh Kumar from Rajasthan secured the all-India Rank 1, while Utkarsh Awadhiya from Madhya Pradesh ranked second.
Avika Aggarwal from Delhi was announced as the female topper, finishing fifth overall.
The third and fourth positions were claimed by Krishang Joshi from Maharashtra and Mrinal Kishore Jha from Delhi, respectively.
The number of qualifying candidates this year has declined compared to 2024, when 13.15 lakh students qualified.
A total of 22.09 lakh candidates appeared for the test in 2025, slightly lower than last year's 23.33 lakh.
Uttar Pradesh led in terms of the number of qualifying candidates with over 1.70 lakh, followed by Maharashtra with over 1.25 lakh and Rajasthan with over 1.19 lakh.
“The NEET-UG is the largest entrance exam in the country in terms of the number of candidates appearing for the test,” the NTA said.
The examination is conducted annually for admissions to undergraduate courses in medicine, including MBBS, dentistry, Ayurveda, Unani, and Siddha.
This year, a total of 108,000 MBBS seats are available, around 56,000 in government colleges and 52,000 in private institutions.
