The channel will offer verified information on curriculum changes, textbooks, teacher training, research, and education initiatives, aimed at improving access to accurate updates for students and educators.

The National Council of Educational Research and Training has launched an official WhatsApp channel to share verified information directly with students, teachers, and other stakeholders, expanding its digital outreach initiatives.
According to NCERT, the channel will provide regular updates on curriculum changes, textbook-related information, teacher training programs, educational research, workshops, and initiatives aimed at promoting quality, equity, and holistic education.

Students and teachers can follow the channel through an official link shared by the council.
The move is part of NCERT’s broader push to use digital platforms to improve access to authentic academic information and reduce the spread of unverified content related to school education.
Earlier, NCERT had introduced an interactive program focused on strengthening students’ mathematical skills using artificial intelligence, signaling a growing emphasis on technology-enabled learning tools.
Separately, NCERT is expected to receive deemed-to-be-university status in the near future, officials said.
If approved, the change would significantly expand the council’s role beyond school education into higher education and advanced research.
Once granted the status, NCERT would be able to operate as a research university, allowing it to launch expanded in-house research programs and independently award undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral degrees.
This would mark a major shift from its current mandate, which is largely centered on curriculum development and academic support for school education.
