The Maharashtra School Education and Sports Department has announced the RTE lottery results for the 2026–27 academic session, enabling parents and guardians to check their application status on the official portal at student.maharashtra.gov.in.
The lottery is conducted under the Right to Education provision, which reserves 25% seats in private unaided primary schools for children from economically weaker sections and disadvantaged groups, ensuring free access to education.

According to official data, the state received 289,332 applications against 114,826 available seats. In Ahilya Nagar district, 9,243 applications were submitted for 348 RTE schools offering 3,765 seats.
Dhule district has 99 schools with 1,307 seats, while Mumbai accounts for 1,465 seats across 73 participating schools.
Applicants who registered under the 25% reserved quota can check their results by visiting the official website, clicking on the ‘RTE 25% Admission for 2026-27’ link, entering their login credentials, and viewing the result displayed on the screen. Candidates are advised to download and keep a copy of the result for future reference.
Students selected in the lottery must complete document verification as part of the admission process.
Parents are required to submit documents including the child’s birth certificate; Aadhaar cards of the parents and the child; residence proof; income certificate; and other relevant certificates such as caste or disability certificates, if applicable, along with passport-sized photographs, the RTE application form, and the allotment letter.
The department has also stated that the results will be released in phases, starting with the main list followed by waiting lists.
