Teachers across Karnataka have been instructed to visit households in their school areas to inform families about government education schemes and encourage enrollment before July-end deadlines.
Primary and Secondary Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa has directed teachers across Karnataka to visit every household within their school jurisdictions to inform families about the facilities offered in government schools.
He said such grassroots outreach is essential for building trust and encouraging more parents to choose public education for their children.
The instruction was issued during a departmental review meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Bagalkot on June 10.
Bangarappa emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts by teachers, officials, and elected representatives to strengthen public schooling.
"With admissions open until the end of July, teachers must focus not only on enrollment but also on ensuring steady attendance. No child should be left out of the education system," he said.
The minister also announced that moral science will be included in the curriculum from the current academic year to instill ethical values in students.
He asked officials to take strict action against exam malpractice and organize special classes for students who fail their exams.
Schools have also been instructed to readmit SSLC students who have failed three times and provide them with uniforms and textbooks.
“Teachers and officials should innovate in their teaching methods, build trust with parents, and pay extra attention to students who are falling behind,” he said.
Citing the district’s improved board exam performance, including a student who secured the first rank statewide, Bangarappa praised local efforts and assured full government support to raise education standards further.
