Japan’s Globis University is set to open its first Indian campus at Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in 2026, marking its seventh global hub and a major milestone in its international expansion.

The Mumbai center will offer a range of management programs, including a pre-MBA, nano-MBA, part-time courses, and pathways to pursue a full-time English MBA at its main campus in Tokyo.

Describing the move as more than just an overseas venture, Globis University founder and president Yoshito Hori said the institution is entering India at a time when global study options are narrowing elsewhere.

“We're more of an ecosystem here based around three key ideals here, people, capital, and knowledge,” he said.

Globis, known for its strong presence in corporate training and venture capital, has published nearly 2 million books on management.

Hori said the university’s long-term vision is to make Globis as renowned as Harvard Business School.

The Mumbai branch, like Globis’s other international offices, will be registered as a company in India. Hori emphasized that the university reinvests all earnings locally.

“We kept reinvesting into the market. So, we never received any kind of repatriation or dividends. So our goal is to become the number one business school in the world,” he said.

Satoshi Hirose, dean of the English MBA program, said the university offers extensive support for those pursuing full-time degrees in Tokyo.

“We also run a 2-year, part-time online MBA for busy professionals, with scholarships and financial aid available for both,” he said, adding that Globis helps students with visas, internships, and career placements in Japan.

So far, about 60 of the 1,000 students and alumni from the Globis English MBA program are from India.

The university hopes to expand that number by introducing its “Technovate” (technology and innovation) and “Kokorozashi” (sense of mission) principles to Indian learners.
