The Indian Army has opened applications for the Agniveer recruitment cycle for the 2026 to 2027 academic session, announcing 25,000 vacancies across multiple categories.
The posts include General Duty, Technical, Clerk or Storekeeper Technical, Tradesman, Soldier Pharma, Soldier Technical Nursing Assistant, and Women Military Police.

Online registration began on Feb 13 and will remain open until April 1, 2026. Candidates can apply through the official website, joinindianarmy.nic.in.
Selected candidates will receive a structured monthly package starting at ₹30,000 in the first year. The amount will increase by ₹5,000 each year, reaching ₹40,000 in the fourth year.
After contributing 30% to the Agniveer Corpus Fund, the in-hand salary will range from ₹21,000 in the first year to ₹28,000 in the fourth year. The Government of India will make a matching contribution annually.
The selection process will be conducted in three stages, a Computer-Based Test, a recruitment rally, and document verification. The Computer-Based Test, also referred to as the Common Entrance Exam, will include subjects such as General Knowledge, General Science, Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, and General English, depending on the category applied for.
For General Duty posts, the exam will consist of 50 questions carrying 100 marks. For Technical and Clerk or Storekeeper positions, the paper will also have 50 questions but carry a total of 200 marks, with subject combinations varying by role.
Candidates who clear the written examination will proceed to the recruitment rally, which includes a 1.6 km run, pull-ups, a 9-foot ditch crossing, zig-zag balance, followed by physical measurement and a medical examination.
