IIT Madras Pravartak, SWAYAM Plus launch multi-cloud and cybersecurity program

IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation has partnered with SWAYAM Plus to launch a 100-hour program focused on multi-cloud computing and cybersecurity for students and professionals.

The program is designed to provide participants with practical exposure to cloud technologies used by Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), along with specialized training in cloud security.

Delivered through live online classes, the program will allow participants to engage with faculty while also offering an immersive learning component at the IIT Madras campus.

The campus-based component has led the organizers to keep the batch size limited. Applications for the first batch will open on Sept 10, with the last date to apply set as Sept 9, according to the institute. Registration will be conducted online through the SWAYAM Plus portal at swayamplus.education.gov.in.

The program is open to students, graduates, working professionals and aspiring technology professionals seeking to build careers in cloud computing. Applicants are recommended to have a basic understanding of infrastructure concepts such as CPU, memory, networking and TCP/IP.

The curriculum will cover cloud and multi-cloud fundamentals, computing, storage, networking, identity and access management, database services, cloud cost management and multi-cloud architecture. It will also include practical applications of these technologies.

A dedicated security component will provide hands-on training in areas including threat detection, identity hardening, encryption, compliance, security monitoring and incident response.

The institute said the top 5% of performers will receive placement support.

IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation serves as the Technology Innovation Hub of IIT Madras. SWAYAM Plus is an initiative of the Union Education Ministry implemented through IIT Madras, with a focus on industry-relevant and employability-oriented learning opportunities.
