The six-month online program offers hands-on training in LLMs, NLP, and AI ethics, featuring real-world projects, expert instruction, and tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Hugging Face.
The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has introduced the second edition of its Certificate Programme in Generative AI, aimed at equipping professionals with advanced skills in artificial intelligence.
Offered under the Continuing Education Programme (CEP), the six-month online course focuses on Large Language Models (LLMs), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and responsible AI development.
Designed for working professionals across domains such as software engineering, data science, machine learning, digital product management, applied research, and education, the program supports career advancement in the fast-evolving AI landscape.
Participants will gain hands-on experience with key tools, including Python, NumPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch, spaCy, and Hugging Face.
The course features real-world capstone projects across sectors like healthcare, finance, education, and autonomous systems, along with structured tutorials.
The curriculum explores advanced topics such as neural networks, transformer-based models, multilingual NLP, and parameter-efficient fine-tuning (PEFT).
Learners will also study cutting-edge techniques like instruction tuning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), reinforcement learning with human feedback (RLHF), and advanced prompting methods. Models such as GPT, BERT, and T5 are covered in depth.
“This program is rooted in our belief that generative AI will be at the heart of future innovation and decision-making. We’re committed to nurturing professionals who can not only understand AI technologies but also lead their application across industries with accountability and depth,” said Professor Tanmoy Chakraborty from the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Delhi.
Industry reports continue to highlight the growing importance of AI talent. A PwC analysis estimates that AI could add up to $15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030.
The course offers 60 hours of live online instruction, self-paced learning modules, and a 10-hour capstone project. Learners can also opt for a one-day campus immersion experience at IIT Delhi.
Applicants must hold an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. Those who complete the program will receive a certificate from IIT Delhi CEP.
With its focus on hands-on learning and ethical AI practices, the program aims to prepare a new generation of AI professionals ready to lead innovation across industries.
