The partnership will enable joint degrees, student exchanges, and collaborative research in areas like mechanical engineering, AI, and materials science, strengthening academic ties between India and France.
IIT Bhilai has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with IMT Nord Europe in France to expand academic and research cooperation between the two institutions.
The agreement was signed by Prof Rajiv Prakash, Director of IIT Bhilai, with support from the institute's Office of International Affairs.
The collaboration is aimed at advancing shared academic goals while contributing to broader educational, social, and cultural development in both countries.
According to the MoU, undergraduate and postgraduate students from IIT Bhilai will have the opportunity to study in France and pursue joint degree programs.
The partnership will focus on key academic areas including mechanical engineering, polymer and composite materials, mechatronics, and computer science with artificial intelligence.
“This agreement is expected to contribute significantly to the academic missions of both institutions,” an official said.
Meanwhile, the admission process at IIT Bhilai continues to draw attention from prospective students.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) and the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) are currently conducting counseling for admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutions.
For the academic session 2025–26, JoSAA is overseeing admissions to 127 institutes, including 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs, and 46 other government-funded technical colleges.
Registration and choice filling for round one began on June 3.
After JoSAA completes its six rounds of counseling, CSAB will hold two additional special rounds to fill any remaining vacancies in the NIT+ system.
