The Bachelor of Arts in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (BAMSME) program will equip aspiring entrepreneurs with key skills, offering flexible and nationwide access through distance learning.
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a Bachelor of Arts in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (BAMSME) program through its School of Vocational Education and Training.
This course aims to provide aspiring entrepreneurs with the essential skills, knowledge, and confidence to start and successfully manage their own business ventures.
The BAMSME course is designed to address the changing needs of young entrepreneurs in India, and it will begin in the January 2025 academic year.
The three-year, 120-credit curriculum is available to students who have finished their 10+2 education.
This IGNOU program, which is offered in English via open and distance learning (ODL), gives students all throughout the country flexibility and accessibility.
According to an official statement released, the program's main objectives are to ensure profitable business operations, analyze market demand prior to starting a new endeavor, and build critical managerial, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
It also stated that the new curriculum will offer a cutting-edge, competency-based approach to entrepreneurship, equipping students to take the lead and thrive in the cutthroat business world.
To be eligible for the program, applicants must have finished their 10+2 or its equivalent. The curriculum lasts for three years and has a maximum validity of six years.
The medium of teaching is English. January and July are the two cycles in which it is offered. The cost is ₹5,100 annually, for a total of ₹15,300 over the course of three years.
