The recruitment drive at IGNOU’s Ahmedabad center will feature companies from multiple sectors, while the university has also opened re-registration for the January 2026 academic session online programs.

Indira Gandhi National Open University, in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry, will hold a job drive at its Regional Centre in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on Jan 19, 2026, beginning at 10:30 am.
According to a press release, the recruitment drive will be conducted at the IGNOU Regional Centre, Ahmedabad, located opposite Nirman University.

Companies from sectors including IT, banking, automobile, electronics, e-commerce, hospitality, telecommunication, and insurance are expected to participate.
The organizers said recruiters are offering competitive salary packages for roles such as customer care executives in backend operations and team and crew members in quick service restaurants.
Eligible candidates include IGNOU students who have completed graduation, are pursuing undergraduate courses, or have passed higher secondary examinations from a recognized institution.
Applicants are required to carry an updated resume, educational certificates, an Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, and a photograph to participate in the placement drive.
IGNOU Vice-Chancellor Prof Uma Kanjilal extended her best wishes to candidates and participating companies for the second edition of the IGNOU-CII Mega Job Fair.
She said, “Such initiatives reflect IGNOU’s dedication to the government’s initiative of Skill India Mission and its commitment towards preparing a skilled, industry-ready workforce.”
“Contributing to the agenda of national education, skilling, and employment generation at a massive scale, this mega job drive on Jan 12, 2026, is expected to facilitate a successful engagement for recruiters and learners alike,” she added.
Separately, IGNOU has opened the re-registration window for the January 2026 academic session. The portal went live on Dec 1, 2025, for learners enrolled in Open and Distance Learning and online programs. Students can submit applications through ignou.ac.in, with the last date set for Jan 15, 2026.
The university said students must log in to update details, select courses, and pay the required fees for the next semester or year.
Re-registration is mandatory for all continuing learners, and incorrect course selection could result in academic delays, according to an official statement.
