Applications are open for a two-month paid internship under the women and child development ministry for women aged 21–40 from rural and non-Tier-I cities, focusing on schemes and field-level exposure.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development has announced the opening of applications for its 2026 internship cycle, inviting women from non-Tier-I cities and rural areas to participate in the February–March term.
The application window will remain open from Dec 1 to 10, and all submissions must be made through the official portal.

The internship is designed to provide participants with practical exposure to the ministry’s schemes, policy initiatives, and field-level activities.
Selected interns may work on pilot projects or micro-studies linked to various programs, offering insight into how government initiatives for women and children are implemented at the ground level.
The program is open exclusively to women between 21 and 40 years old. Applicants should be students, research scholars, teachers, or social activists affiliated with academic or non-academic institutions.
For this cycle, eligibility has been limited to candidates residing in non-Tier-I cities or rural regions to ensure representation from underserved areas.
The two-month internship aims to familiarize participants with government policies, flagship schemes, and institutional processes.
Interns may be involved in research, data analysis, field interactions, and the preparation of policy papers.
The program also offers opportunities to interact with officials responsible for implementing key schemes, as well as stakeholders from partner ministries and organizations.

The ministry highlighted that the initiative seeks to bridge information gaps and empower interns to raise issues concerning women and children on public platforms in the future.
For this term, selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹20,000, with travel expenses reimbursed and hostel accommodation provided in Delhi to remove logistical barriers for women from smaller towns and rural areas.
Applicants must submit their forms online between Dec 1 and 10. The ministry clarified that once a candidate is selected, she cannot reapply for any future term of the internship.
