Google launches summer 2026 paid internship opportunities for PhD and graduate students

Google has opened applications for a range of paid internship and apprenticeship programs in India, offering opportunities to students pursuing bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD degrees in technical and research-focused disciplines.

The positions are available across Google’s offices in Bengaluru, Pune, and Hyderabad and are scheduled for the Summer 2026 intake.

Eligible candidates can apply for roles including Silicon Engineering Intern, PhD, Summer 2026; Software Engineering PhD Intern, Summer 2026; and Student Researcher, 2026.

The Silicon Engineering Intern, PhD, Summer 2026 program is open to students currently enrolled in PhD programs in computer engineering, computer science, electronics and communication engineering, electrical engineering, or related technical fields.

Selected interns will work closely with hardware and software architects to design and model next-generation cloud silicon technologies. Applications for this role are open until March 31, 2026.

The Software Engineering PhD Intern, Summer 2026 role targets PhD students specializing in software development or related technical areas. The 12- to 14-week internship includes opportunities for technical learning, professional development, an executive speaker series, and community engagement.

Interns will work on complex computer science problems, build scalable distributed software systems, and collaborate on projects with broad real-world applications.

The Student Researcher, 2026 program is open to students enrolled in bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD programs in fields such as computer science, linguistics, statistics, biostatistics, applied mathematics, operations research, economics, and natural sciences.

The application deadline for this program is also March 31, 2026. Participants will be placed on teams across Google in research, engineering, and science roles, with a focus on solving large-scale, real-world problems.
