KIET Deemed to be University inaugurates AI Skills Lab under HP–Intel “AI for Future Workforce” Initiative

KIET launches HP–Intel-backed AI Skills Lab to boost industry-ready talent, hands-on learning, and innovation through cutting-edge infrastructure, certifications, and student-led projects

KIET Deemed to be University marked a significant milestone in its journey towards fostering future-ready talent with the inauguration of the AI Skills Lab – Centre of Excellence, established under the prestigious HP–Intel “AI for Future Workforce” initiative.

The state-of-the-art facility was inaugurated in the presence of senior representatives from HP India and Intel India, along with the University’s leadership, faculty members, and student innovators. The initiative aims to strengthen industry-academia collaboration and equip students with cutting-edge artificial intelligence skills aligned with evolving industry demands.

The inauguration ceremony featured a formal ribbon-cutting, keynote addresses, and a curated project exhibition, in the presence of industry representatives HP India and Intel India along with KIET Leadership - Dr. Manoj Goel, Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. Adesh Kumar Pandey – Director Academics, Dr. Abhinav Juneja – Director, Corporate Relations and Placement Cell and all the departmental Deans.

Ms. Shweta Khurana, Senior Director, Intel, highlighted the importance of large-scale AI skilling to support India’s digital economy, while Mr. Ankur Goel, Senior Director, HP India, emphasized the need for industry-aligned talent pipelines and hands-on learning infrastructure.

Reaffirming the University’s commitment to innovation-driven education, Dr. Manoj Goel, Pro Vice Chancellor, KIET, along with other senior academic leaders, emphasized the role of the AI Skills Lab as a central hub for interdisciplinary learning, faculty upskilling, and applied research.

A key highlight of the event was the Project Exhibition, where 51 student innovators showcased 32 AI and emerging technology projects, spanning domains such as generative AI, healthcare analytics, computer vision, blockchain integration, and robotics. The exhibition reflected the institution’s strong focus on experiential learning and innovation.

Dr. Ajay Kumar Shrivastava – Convenor & Dean, CS/CSE-DS & Technical Training, shared, “The AI Skills Lab is equipped with industry-grade infrastructure, including HP workstations and Intel-powered AI computing systems, and will serve as the nodal centre for delivering Intel Digital Readiness Certification Courses and facilitating the Train the Trainer (TTT) Program for faculty.”

The initiative is expected to significantly enhance students’ employability by providing early exposure to real-world AI applications, industry expectations, and certification pathways. It also establishes a scalable model for future collaborations, research initiatives, and innovation-driven programs.

With this launch, KIET Deemed to be University reinforces its position as a forward-looking institution committed to building a digitally skilled workforce and contributing to India’s growing AI ecosystem.
