Vacancies are available across Scientist C, D, and E grades, offering opportunities for experienced professionals to work on advanced defense research and technology projects.

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has launched a recruitment drive for scientists across multiple grades, inviting online applications for 33 vacancies under Advertisement No 157 through the Recruitment and Assessment Centre (RAC).
Eligible candidates can apply through the RAC portal at rac.gov.in. The application window will remain open until 4 pm on June 19, 2026.

According to the official notification, the vacancies are available for the posts of Scientist C, Scientist D, and Scientist E. The recruitment is aimed at bringing experienced professionals into India's defense research and development sector.
Of the 33 positions, 20 vacancies have been announced for Scientist C, 11 for Scientist D, and two for Scientist E.
Candidates applying for Scientist C must have at least three years of relevant professional experience and should be no older than 35 years. The post carries a basic pay of ₹67,700 per month under the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).
For Scientist D, applicants are required to possess a minimum of seven years of relevant experience. The upper age limit for the position is 45 years, and selected candidates will receive a basic pay of ₹78,800 per month.
Candidates seeking appointment as Scientist E must have at least 11 years of experience. The maximum age limit is 45 years. The position offers a basic pay of ₹123,100 per month.
DRDO said the recruitment drive is intended to strengthen the country's defense research capabilities and support technological innovation aligned with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
According to the notification, selected scientists will have the opportunity to contribute to advanced defense technologies and strategic projects related to national security.
The organization stated that scientists working with DRDO are exposed to cutting-edge research, collaboration with experts, and opportunities to contribute to India's technological and strategic advancement.
The recruitment spans several scientific and engineering disciplines. Candidates can check the specific subjects and disciplines applicable to each post on the official DRDO website, drdo.gov.in.
Applicants have been advised to carefully review the detailed eligibility conditions, educational qualifications, experience requirements, and application process available on the RAC website before submitting their applications.
