Triumph of Excellence: AMU Geology Department Shines in UPSC Examinations

Geology Students from Amu Qualify UPSC Exams: The Department of Geology at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) celebrates the remarkable success of twenty of its students in competitive examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Government of India.

Triumph of Excellence: AMU Geology Department Shines in UPSC Examinations

Twenty students hailing from the Department of Geology at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) have achieved remarkable success, showcasing the department's excellence through their qualification in competitive examinations administered by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Government of India.

As per Prof. Kr. Farahim Khan, the Department's Chairperson, nine students have successfully secured positions as 'Geologists' and 'Hydrogeologists' after clearing the Preliminary and Mains examinations, followed by the Personality Test of the Combined Geo‐Scientist Examination, 2023 conducted by UPSC.

Among the achievers, Noman Zaman Khan (AIR 14), Hilal Ali (AIR 78), Mohammad Saqib (AIR 116), Mohd Gulam Navi (AIR 145), Anas Ahamad (AIR 154), and Shah Husain (AIR 189) have qualified for the post of Geologist, while Aaisha Naz (AIR 8), Mohd Tahir Khan (AIR 17), and Mohammad Aatif Raza (AIR 20) have secured positions as Hydrogeologists.

Additionally, seven students, including Mohammad Saqib (AIR 4), Razuddin (AIR 31), Mohd Rashid (AIR 35), Tariq Ejaz (AIR 38), Mohd Siddique Akbar (AIR 44), Rahil Usmani (AIR 46), and Affan Ahamad (AIR 48), have been selected for the role of 'Assistant Hydrogeologist' in the Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India.

Saima Rahman has earned the position of Assistant Mining Geologist within the Indian Bureau of Mines, Ministry of Mines, as one among the six selected candidates on an all-India basis through the UPSC examination.

Furthermore, three research scholars from the Department of Geology, namely Mohammad Salman, Rahil Usmani, and Affan Ahamad, have been appointed as Junior Mining Geologists within the Indian Bureau of Mines, Ministry of Mines, out of a total of seven selections nationwide.

Prof. Farahim Khan extends heartfelt congratulations to all the successful students, acknowledging their triumph as a testament to their relentless efforts, commitment, and the guidance provided by the faculty members.
