Regarding KVIC's Recent Accomplishments

Record Turnover: In FY 2024–2025, Khadi and Village Industries' turnover surpassed ₹1.70 lakh crore.

Huge Development in 11 Years:

Sales Growth: 447% more than in FY 2013–14.

Production Growth: Over the same time span, it increased by 347 percent.

Work Creation: A 49.23% increase in work opportunities, totaling 1.94 crore.

Development of Skills: 57.45% of the 7.43 lakh trained craftsmen were women.

PMEGP Success: The Pradhan Mantri Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) established 10.18 lakh units.

KVIC: What is it?

A statutory organization called KVIC was created to support and grow the Khadi and village industries in rural India.

Supply of Raw Materials: Establish reserves and distribute raw materials to artisans.

Artisan Development: Provide training and skill development for artisans through both departmental and external centers.

Market Access: Facilitate the sale of Khadi products by collaborating with marketing organizations.

Research and Development: Promote research and development in production methods. Implement renewable and alternative energy sources to improve productivity.

Financial Support: Offer grants, subsidies, and technical assistance to business owners.

Quality Control: Establish and oversee quality standards for Khadi and village industry goods.

Experimental Initiatives: Initiate pilot projects to address specific challenges within the sector.
