On April 14th, commemorating the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud unveiled the book titled "The Foresighted Ambedkar: Ideas That Shaped Indian Constitutional Discourse." Authored by Anurag Bhaskar and published by Penguin, the book offers a profound exploration of Dr. Ambedkar's pivotal role in shaping India's constitutional landscape.
Anurag Bhaskar, a distinguished legal scholar, meticulously traces Dr. Ambedkar's influence on the Indian constitutional discourse from as early as 1919. Drawing from extensive research and academic accolades, Bhaskar provides insights into Dr. Ambedkar's multifaceted contributions to the evolution of the Indian Constitution.

Described as a seminal work of intellectual and constitutional history, the book delves into Dr. Ambedkar's indispensable role across different constitutional epochs. It underscores how his visionary ideas permeated every stage of India's constitutional journey, culminating in his rightful recognition as the "Father of the Indian Constitution."
The book launch event witnessed the presence of eminent dignitaries, including Justice Sundaresh Menon, Chief Justice of Singapore, and Justice David Goddard, Judge of the Court of Appeal of New Zealand. Several esteemed judges from the Supreme Court of India, Chief Justices, and judges from all High Courts in India also graced the occasion.
Following the book's release, CJI Chandrachud and other attendees paid homage to Dr. Ambedkar by walking to his statue, situated on the Supreme Court's lawns. Reflecting on Dr. Ambedkar's enduring legacy, CJI Chandrachud emphasized the continued relevance of his message in contemporary times, echoing the profound impact of his contributions to Indian constitutionalism.
