AMU Malappuram Centre Hosts Career-Oriented Programme for Law Students: 'Arbitrate and Mitigate' & 'Advocate on Record' Sessions Delve into Alternative Legal Paths, Emphasizing Opportunities in Dispute Resolution and Supreme Court Practice

AMU Malappuram Centre Hosts Career-Oriented Programme for Law Students.
The Career Counseling and Placement Cell of Aligarh Muslim University Malappuram Centre, Kerala, recently hosted a two-day online orientation programme titled "Arbitrate and Mitigate" and "Advocate on Record as a Career Prospect" aimed at providing valuable insights into alternative career paths for law students.
The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Faisal KP, Director of the centre, who commended the initiative and emphasized the significance of such career-oriented programmes. Dr. Faisal also highlighted the achievements of the centre's alumni, underscoring the potential for success beyond traditional legal avenues.

The first session featured Mr. Abduraheem Padinhare, Senior Legal Advisor at CARS24 Arabia and an AMU alumnus, who shed light on the plethora of opportunities available for Indian lawyers in the Middle East. Mr. Padinhare elaborated on the preparation strategy and eligibility criteria for aspiring arbitrators, discussing the evolving landscape of Dispute Resolution and its vast scope.
During the interactive session, law students from various batches actively participated, seeking clarification on the role and scope of Dispute Redressal Councils both domestically and internationally.
The following day, Advocate Abdul Qadir Abbasi, an Advocate on Record (AOR) at the Supreme Court of India, delivered a lecture on the career prospects of becoming an advocate on record. Advocate Abbasi provided valuable insights into the eligibility criteria, examination overview, and benefits of pursuing a career in this specialized field.
Advocate Abbasi urged students to prioritize their career goals with dedication, discipline, and hard work, emphasizing the importance of studying judicial precedents extensively to excel in the legal profession.
Dr. Shahnawaz Ahmed Malik, Course Coordinator of the Department of Law, welcomed Advocate Abbasi, highlighting the significance of advocate on record and the need for career guidance for law students. Dr. Malik stressed the importance of timely guidance and settlement in career decisions.
The programme concluded with a question-answer session, providing students with the opportunity to further engage with the speakers and clarify any remaining doubts.
Dr. Deeba Khanam, Convener of the Career Counseling and Placement Cell, extended gratitude to all participants, while Mr. Mohammed Asif, Secretary of the Cell, was acknowledged for his pivotal role in organizing the successful two-day event.
The orientation programme not only broadened the horizons of law students but also underscored the importance of exploring diverse career paths in the legal field, paving the way for future success and innovation.
