IIT Guwahati provides the undergraduate program, Bachelor of Science with Honours in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, offered by the Mehta Family School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.

This program is meticulously crafted to equip students with the necessary qualifications, skills, and resources to excel in the industry. Upon completion, students will be well-prepared to pursue various roles in the technology sector.
Students enrolled in the program have the flexibility to choose their pace and course of study. They can opt for a lesser number of courses than the prescribed amount in a given trimester.
The program will be entirely online and available on the Coursera platform, catering to international learners as well.
Designed for working professionals looking to enhance their skills in contemporary technologies, as well as recent Class XII graduates, the program also offers an optional 4-week campus immersion plan for hands-on training at IIT Guwahati.
Moreover, the program provides multiple entry and exit options.

Eligibility: Candidates must have completed Class XII or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks, with Mathematics as one of the compulsory subjects.
Admission: Eligible candidates need to enroll in an online course focusing on basic Mathematics, specifically designed for this program. Applicants will be evaluated based on a Composite Score derived from their performance in Class X, XII, and the online course. Admission will be granted based on this ranking. Alternatively, candidates eligible to appear in JEE (Adv) and have registered for it in any year will be directly admitted.
Duration: The minimum duration of the program is 4 years, extendable up to 8 years.
Trimester System: The program follows a trimester system with 3 terms per year, each lasting approximately 12 weeks, with a two-week break following each term.
Credit Requirement: A total of 299 credits are needed for the four-year BSc Hons program.
Multi Exit System: The students have the opportunity to exit the program at different stages by obtaining the relevant certificate upon finishing the necessary coursework. Various exit points will be offered to the students.
Teaching: The mode of instruction is fully online with English as the medium of communication. Each week of instruction will include recorded videos, live sessions, and discussion hours. The majority of teaching will be conducted by the faculty members of IIT Guwahati. Additionally, there will be industrial interactions, invited guest lectures, and industry courses/certificates offered as part of the degree curriculum.

Assessments: Due to the international audience, assessments will be carried out in an online proctored mode. There is no requirement to travel to any center for in-person examinations.
Fee Structure: The total programme fee for the four-year BSc(Hons) degree is approximately Rs. 3,49,000, broken down as follows:
