AMU Hosts Comprehensive Seminar on Intellectual Property Rights.
In a bid to foster a deeper understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and its pivotal role in research and innovation, the Mechanical Engineering Section of University Polytechnic, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), organized a one-day seminar on "IPR and Its Protection."
The seminar, chaired by Prof. Arshad Umar, Principal of University Polytechnic, commenced with an enlightening welcome address, highlighting the paramount importance of IPR across all domains of research and innovation.

A significant aspect of the event was the keynote address delivered by Dr. Sameer Kumar Swarup, Joint Controller of Patents and Designs at the Patents Office, Ahmedabad. Dr. Swarup provided valuable insights into the nuances of IPR, elucidating its indispensable role as the bedrock of innovation, offering creators a legal framework to safeguard their intellectual assets.
Prof. Mohammad Gulrez, Officiating Vice Chancellor at AMU, commended the organizers for their proactive initiative and underscored the significance of such seminars in enriching the research community's understanding of IPR.
Further, Prof. Mirza Salim Beg, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, emphasized the pivotal role of intellectual property rights in driving innovation and fostering economic growth.
Guest of Honour, Prof. Mohammad Shameem, reiterated the cross-disciplinary relevance of IPR, emphasizing its critical importance across diverse fields of study.

Distinguished speakers, Mr. Yasir Abbas Zaidi and Mr. Manish Soyal, shared their expertise during the technical sessions, enriching participants with practical insights into IPR management and protection strategies.
Coordinated by Er. Shamshad Ali, Dr. Mohd Yunus Khan, and Er. Abdul Faheem, the seminar witnessed active participation from 62 attendees, including faculty members and research scholars from various academic disciplines, showcasing a keen interest in the subject matter.
The seminar concluded with a stimulating interactive question and answer session, fostering engaging dialogue among participants. Dr. Mohd Asif Hasan, Incharge of the Mechanical Engineering Section, extended a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all attendees and contributors for their valuable insights and active participation.
