Students will receive photocopies of their evaluated answer sheets before deciding to apply for mark verification or re-evaluation, enhancing transparency in the process.
Students awaiting their CBSE board exam results in 2025 will face a key change in the post-result procedure. For the first time, the Central Board of Secondary Education will allow students to access photocopies of their evaluated answer sheets before deciding whether to request verification of marks or re-evaluation.
This shift is aimed at increasing transparency in how answer sheets are assessed.
In the past, students first had to apply for verification, followed by access to answer sheet copies and then re-evaluation.
Under the revised system, they will first review their evaluated answer books and then choose whether to proceed with verification, re-evaluation, or both.
This gives students a chance to identify any possible calculation errors or unmarked answers in advance.
“It gives them a clear idea of where marks may have been missed or miscalculated,” an official said.
Based on that, students can apply for verification to check for arithmetic errors or go for re-evaluation to have specific answers reassessed.
CBSE will release the detailed procedure only after the declaration of Class 10 and Class 12 results.
Until then, students are advised to stay updated through the official websites—cbseresults.nic.in, results.cbse.nic.in, cbse.gov.in, digilocker.gov.in, and results.gov.in.
They can also check results via the UMANG app and SMS services.
Although the board has not announced an exact result date, it is likely that Class 10 and Class 12 results will be released simultaneously.
The Class 10 board exams were held from Feb 15 to March 1, while Class 12 exams ran from Feb 15 to April 4. All exams took place from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.
