The upcoming CAT will be held in three computer-based sessions across 170 cities, with registration open from Aug 1 to Sept 13 and results expected in January 2026.
The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode will conduct the Common Admission Test (CAT) for 2025, a key entrance exam for postgraduate business programs in India.
A notification released on July 27 confirmed that the registration process will open on Aug 1 and continue through Sept 13.
The exam is scheduled for Nov 30, and the application link will be activated soon on the official website, iimcat.ac.in.
This year’s CAT will be held in three computer-based sessions across close to 170 cities. Aspirants will be able to select five preferred locations for their test centers while applying.
The detailed guidelines, including eligibility criteria and application instructions, will be published on the CAT portal shortly.
Applicants from SC, ST, and PwD categories will pay a registration fee of ₹1,300, while the fee for general and other category candidates is ₹2,600.
Along with personal and academic details, candidates must upload scanned copies of relevant documents, including marksheets, photo ID, category certificates, and, in the case of final-year students, a certificate from their college.
Work experience documents may also be required for those who wish to report prior employment.
CAT serves as the primary gateway for admissions to the IIMs and numerous other management institutes nationwide.
While the exam score is an important component, final selection also involves further stages such as interviews and written assessments, as determined by each institute.
The previous edition of the exam, administered by IIM Calcutta, saw participation from nearly 2.93 lakh candidates.
Fourteen of them secured perfect scores, with engineering graduates dominating the top ranks.
Only one woman and one non-engineer made it to the 100 percentile bracket, while the gender breakdown of all test-takers included 1.86 lakh men, 1.07 lakh women, and five transgender candidates.
