
New Delhi: Media & Entertainment Skills Council conducted two days virtual conference ‘The Impeccable Academia-2022’ witnessed the presence of eminent personalities across the Media & Entertainment sector. Conference was focused on integrating Media & Entertainment Programs in Formal Education. Considering the immense scope of the industry, there is a need for training and upskilling of the professionals. The Media & Entertainment sector is one of the growth driving sectors of the Indian economy. There has been exponential growth in the sector; platforms like television, films, print and radio have registered sustainable development.

Mr. VLVSS Subba Rao – former Principal Economic Adviser, Government of India, Ministry of Rural Development, who was present as eminent speaker,emphasized skill embedded degree education, especially in the M&E sector where various skills are integrated into degree courses. Mr. Ashish Kulkarni, Founder, PUNNARYUG ARTVISION PVT LTD, said that NEP is a great opportunity to rebuild and relearn creativity. Dr. Mahul Brahma, Professor and Dean – School of Media and Communication, Adamas University, shared his views on how NEP can lead education system towards a brighter future.

Dr. Narendra Kaushik, Dean, School of Journalism & Mass Communication, JECRC University, said NEP has opened new horizons to universities with significant changes into formal education. Dr. Sheifalika Narayan, Dean, Atlas School of Media & Communication, Atlas University shed light on how NEP has helped teaching, creativity, management, and design.
Dr. Abhijit Bora, Professor, Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Tezpur Central University, said that NEP if students are provided proper training by enhancing their careers, especially in media, communication, and entertainment, NEP could lead them towards a promising future. Dr. Ritu Sood, Dean, SMFE, Sharda University, conferred the challenges and requirements of M&E sector to provide best training to the students. Agreeing with Ms. Sood, Mr. Anurag Sahu- Assistant Professor, KIIT School of Mass Communication, KIIT University, said that the requirement of the NEP where media education is concerned is to re-evaluate the syllabus.
