The agreement will integrate BSNL’s telecom expertise with AICTE’s academic network to enhance faculty training, student internships, and research collaborations, preparing graduates for careers in emerging technologies and fostering industry-ready skills.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has partnered with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to link classroom learning with real-world industry needs, aiming to modernize technical education and expand skill development opportunities nationwide.
The agreement, signed in New Delhi by AICTE Member Secretary (I/C) Dr More Ramulu and BSNL Senior GM Samita Luthra in the presence of AICTE Chairman Prof T G Sitharam, brings together the council’s vast academic reach and BSNL’s long-standing experience in telecom, IT, networking, and management.

Prof Sitharam said the tie-up would create pathways for students to gain hands-on experience in areas that are driving global change.
“Through this initiative, we aim to offer industry-relevant education and build a skilled talent pool to support India’s growth in emerging domains such as telecom, next-gen communications, 5G & 6G mobile services, and cybersecurity,” he said.
“This collaboration will further strengthen the AICTE ecosystem by enhancing faculty capabilities and providing students with hands-on exposure to cutting-edge technologies,” he added.
Luthra emphasized the importance of making technical education more responsive to industry trends.
“This joint effort reflects our shared vision to make technical education more dynamic and industry-responsive. BSNL brings deep expertise in advanced skill development, while AICTE offers a vast academic network,” she said.
“Together, we will embed real-world competencies into academic programs, ensuring inclusive, scalable, and globally benchmarked education,” she added.
As part of the MoU, BSNL will act as a training partner for AICTE-approved institutions, offering access to its facilities across India.
The collaboration covers faculty training programs, student internships, capacity-building initiatives, research projects, and pilot schemes designed to strengthen institutional capabilities.
Faculty development programs will focus on upgrading teaching skills in high-demand technologies, while internships will prepare students for employment and encourage entrepreneurship.
Officials said the partnership represents a step toward closing the gap between academic theory and industry practice, positioning India’s technical education sector to better compete on the global stage.
