The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced its revised academic calendar for the 2026-27 session, covering technical institutions and programs such as Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and Post-Graduate Certificate in Management (PGCM).
According to the revised schedule, classes for first-year students will begin on Aug 17. Institutions can continue admissions against vacant seats until Sept 14. The deadline for lateral-entry admissions to the second year has also been set for Sept 14.

Alongside the academic schedule, AICTE has opened applications for the AICTE-Mitacs Globalink Research Internship (GRI) 2027, a 12-week research opportunity in Canada for eligible students enrolled at AICTE-approved institutions.
Applications for the internship opened on August 5, with students required to submit their applications by September 16.
The council also provides financial support to students who qualify for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) and pursue postgraduate programs in engineering, technology or design at AICTE-approved institutions or university departments.
Eligible students under the scholarship scheme receive ₹12,400 per month to support their postgraduate education.
AICTE runs several scholarship, fellowship and other support programs for students, faculty members, researchers and other stakeholders across the technical education sector.
