The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday announced the results for the Civil Services Exam 2023, with Aditya Srivastava securing the topmost rank.

A total of 1,016 candidates cleared the examination and have been recommended for different central government services, the UPSC said.
Unlike last year, men outperformed women this year, securing the top spots.
In 2022, Ishita Kishore secured the first followed by Garima Lohia, Uma Harathi N, and Smriti Mishra.
A total of 347 candidates from the general category cleared the UPSC 2023 exam, while 115 aspirants were recommended from the economically weaker sections (EWS).
The UPSC also said that 303 applicants from the other backward classes (OBC) passed the exam, while 165 and 86 applicants from the scheduled castes (SCs) and scheduled tribes (STs) respectively secured their names in the illustrious list.
The list announced by UPSC includes candidates recommended for appointment to (1) Indian Administrative Service; (2) Indian Foreign Service; (3) Indian Police Service; and (4) Central Services, Group 'A' and Group 'B'.
The Civil Services Exam is conducted annually in three stages - preliminary, main and interview - by the UPSC to select officers of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others.
The merit list has been released based on the prelims exam that was held on May 28, the mains exam which was held on September 15, 16, 17, 23, and 24 of last year following the Personality Test, that was held from January to April 2024.
