Men’s hygiene brand Svish collaborates with Shikhar Dhawan as investor, brand ambassador

Men’s grooming and hygiene brand Svish has secured an undisclosed amount of investment from cricketer Shikhar Dhawan in a bridge funding round.

With the investment, Dhawan has also joined the D2C company as its brand ambassador which also saw participation from other angel investors.

Svish plans to use the fresh capital to expand into sexual health and new grooming categories.
Shikhar Dhawan had earlier invested in a list of startups which include TagZ,  Upstox and Sarva.

"I am delighted to embark on this exciting journey with SVISH. Their commitment to innovation and quality aligns perfectly with my values. As an athlete, grooming is essential, and I am thrilled to endorse a brand that offers such exceptional products," said Shikhar Dhawan.

Meanwhile, Svish’s co-founder, Jaideep Mahajan welcomed Dhawan and said, “Shikhar Dhawan's association with Svish brings an invaluable dimension to our brand. His relevance and reach in the public domain make him the perfect ambassador for our mission to redefine grooming and hygiene standards. We are excited to have him on board.”

Jaipuria highlighted the company's financial health: "With a reduction in burn rate by over 70%, the company is well positioned to achieve profitability and further solidify its market leadership." Svish is now looking to expand its product range into sexual health and new grooming categories, indicating a broadening of its market approach.

Svish was established in 2020 by Ishan Grover and Mahajan during the pandemic. It is known for its innovative products, such as the Made-Safe Certified Hair Removal Spray for Men and an Anti-Chafing Roll-On.

Discussing the company’s strategic distribution plans, Manan Chawla, director of sales at Svish said, "Our partnership with quick commerce platforms like Blinkit and Zepto is pivotal, reducing delivery time to 10-30 minutes in major cities for swift access to our grooming solutions. This move is expected to enhance the accessibility of Svish products to a wider audience efficiently.”

The startup ecosystem has seen increased investments from Indian cricketers in recent times.

On Wednesday, former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni invested in EMotorad while few weeks ago KKR captain and Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer also invested in the healthtech platform Curelo.

Last year, Hardik Pandya invested in footwear brand Arreto and D2C food startup Yu while Dhoni invested in creatortech startup Rigi and fitness startup Tagda Raho.
