Trump Vs Harris: Tightly contested race for White House

The neck-to-neck poll campaign between Republican candidate Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris ended with a fierce battle for Pennsylvania on Nov 4. Both of them made their last appeals to voters.

While Harris concluded her poll campaign in Philadelphia's iconic steps of the art museum with a confident statement "The momentum is on our side," Trump made stops at Reading and Pittsburgh before wrapping up his day at Michigan.

The former president delivered rousing speeches claiming voter fraud and warnings about rising migrant crimes while making promises to revive America. Meanwhile, Harris focused on promising a better future for America.

As voting moves ahead for the 60th presidential election on Nov 5, it's a close race in seven critical battleground states that could decide the winner's fate.

According to an AtlasIntel poll, former President Donald Trump leading Democratic candidate Kamala Harris with 49% support compared to Harris's 47.2%, giving Trump a slim 1.8% edge.

The survey reveals Trump leads in all swing states, including Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

Recent findings from an AtlasIntel survey conducted on November 1 and 2 indicate that Donald Trump is leading Kamala Harris among likely voters in several key states.

The survey, which included nearly 2,500 respondents, predominantly female, reveals that Trump commands 51.9% of the vote in Arizona, compared to Harris’s 45.1%. In Nevada, he holds a similar advantage with 51.4% against Harris's 45.9%. North Carolina also shows Trump ahead with 50.4% to Harris's 46.8%.

These swing states are critical, as their voting patterns have historically been competitive; for instance, Joe Biden secured Arizona by a mere 10,000 votes in the 2020 election, underscoring the potential impact of voter turnout and preferences in the upcoming election.

Meanwhile, a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted from Oct 29 shows an opposite trend where Harris has a slight edge over Trump at 44% to 43%.

A poll from The New York Times and Siena College shows Harris leading slightly in Nevada, North Carolina, and Wisconsin, while Trump has a narrow edge in Arizona. Early voting has seen about 40% participation, with Harris leading among those voters. In Pennsylvania, Trump has gained traction, turning it into a toss-up.

As all eyes are set on the 47th president of the United States, the winner needs a majority of the total 538 Electoral College votes. These votes are divided among the 50 US states and the District of Columbia.

The votes will be counted soon after the first polls will close at 6 pm (4.30 am IST) on Nov 5.

The president-elect will take office after being inaugurated on January 20, 2025, on the grounds of the US Capitol complex. The president will hold office for the next four years.

In addition to choosing a president, voters will also select Congressional representatives for the House of Representatives and the US Senate.
