Trump warns Iran with ‘no more Mr nice guy’ post amid stalled nuclear talks

US President Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to Iran, signalling a tougher stance as nuclear negotiations between the two countries remain deadlocked.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump shared an AI-edited image depicting himself holding an assault rifle against a war-like backdrop, accompanied by the message: “Iran can’t get their act together… They better get smart soon! NO MORE MR NICE GUY!”

The post reflects growing frustration within the US administration over the lack of progress in talks aimed at curbing Iran’s nuclear programme. Washington has insisted on strict limits on Tehran’s nuclear activities, which it believes could lead to weapons development, a claim Iran continues to deny.

Iran has pushed back against US demands, calling them “unrealistic” and refusing to negotiate under what it describes as illegal sanctions and military threats. Tehran has also demanded an end to the US naval blockade and a halt to hostilities as preconditions for further talks.

The standoff comes amid broader tensions linked to the ongoing conflict in the region, with negotiations repeatedly stalling despite multiple rounds of dialogue. Reports indicate that Iran has proposed delaying nuclear discussions until a permanent ceasefire is reached, while the US continues to press for immediate concessions.

Trump is also facing a legal and political clock at home, with a 60-day War Powers Act deadline approaching, potentially forcing a decision on whether to escalate or wind down US involvement in the conflict.

The situation has had wider global implications, including volatility in oil markets and economic strain within Iran, where inflation and currency depreciation have worsened during the conflict.

With both sides holding firm on key demands, prospects for a breakthrough remain uncertain, raising concerns about further escalation if diplomatic efforts fail.
