According to a report by travel booking site Booking.com, there has been an uptick in interest in destinations ranging from Vrindavan and Mathura to global hubs like Dubai and Tokyo.

With Holi just around the corner, Indian travelers are escaping on a weekend getaway to both domestic and international destinations.

According to a report by travel booking site Booking.com, there has been an uptick in interest in destinations ranging from Vrindavan and Mathura to global hubs like Dubai and Tokyo.

As Holi is going to be celebrated on March 14, many travelers are choosing culturally significant locations.

The top three most searched destinations for March 13-16 include Udaipur, Mumbai, and Rishikesh, while significant religious cities like Vrindavan, Mathura, Pushkar, Jaipur, Shantiniketan, and Hampi are also witnessing a sharp rise in interest.

Other destinations in the south like Puducherry, Lonavala, and Ooty are also among the top destinations travellers are looking to unwind.

The top 10 most-searched domestic destinations include Udaipur, Mumbai, Rishikesh, Jaipur, New Delhi, Varanasi, Vrindavan, Puducherry, Puri, and Lonavala.

For travellers, this long weekend is also an opportunity for a quick international trip.

Short-haul destinations that have easy visa access are witnessing a rise in interest, with Dubai being at the top of the list, followed by Singapore and Bangkok.

Beach spots like Phuket and Abu Dhabi are also seeing travellers looking for a mix of relaxation and adventure.

The top 10 most-searched international destinations for March 13-16 include Dubai, Singapore, Bangkok, Mecca, Phuket, Abu Dhabi, Kuala Lumpur, London, Tokyo, and Paris.
