While Modi will attend two public meetings in Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur, Rahul will hold a public meeting in his constituency Wayanad, from where he is contesting for a second term.
Kerala on Monday will witness political fervor as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi are set to hold public rallies to campaign for the candidates for their alliances ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
While Modi will attend two public meetings in Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur, Rahul will hold a public meeting in his constituency Wayanad, from where he is contesting for a second term. He kicked off the election campaign in his constituency Wayanad early this month by filing his nomination papers and holding a massive roadshow. In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, he had won Wayanad with a record margin of 4, 31,770 votes.
This is PM Modi’s sixth visit to the state this year. He will also be addressing a public meeting in Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu later in the evening. According to sources, Modi’s rallies are being held with an aim to increase the party’s chances in a state where the BJP has never won a Lok Sabha seat. The party has fielded Union minister Rajeev Chandrashekar against Congress MP Shashi Tharoor from Thiruvananthapuram.
Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi will be in the state for a two-day tour and hold a United Democratic Front (UDF) rally in northern Kozhikode in the evening and take part in several programs in his constituency over the next couple of days.
All 20 Lok Sabha seats of the state go to polls in the second phase on April 26.
