Independent MP Pappu Yadav has triggered a fresh controversy after making another provocative statement, just a day after facing widespread criticism for a sexist remark.
According to reports, the Bihar leader said that “70–80% of politicians” watch inappropriate content while attempting to clarify his earlier statement. The remark has drawn sharp reactions and intensified the ongoing row surrounding his comments.

The latest statement comes in the wake of his earlier controversial “bedroom” remark, in which he suggested that many women entering politics face exploitative conditions.
That comment had already sparked outrage across political parties and prompted criticism from women’s groups and leaders.
Instead of easing tensions, Yadav’s clarification appears to have escalated the situation further. His new claim has been widely criticised as inappropriate and unbecoming of a public representative, adding to concerns about the tone of political discourse.
Leaders from across the political spectrum had earlier condemned his remarks on women, calling them derogatory and demanding accountability.
The issue also drew the attention of the Bihar State Women Commission, which sought an explanation from the MP over his initial comments.
Despite the backlash, Yadav has not issued a formal apology so far, and the row continues to dominate political discussions.
