External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, currently on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates, thanked Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for supporting the Indian community in the country amid ongoing tensions in West Asia.
In a post on X, Jaishankar expressed appreciation for the UAE leadership’s efforts to ensure the well-being of Indian nationals, highlighting the importance of close coordination between the two countries.

The minister said the gesture reflects the strong and enduring ties between India and the United Arab Emirates, particularly in times of crisis.
He noted that close coordination between the two governments has helped address concerns related to the safety of Indian citizens living and working in the region.
During the visit, Jaishankar also met UAE's Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The two leaders discussed the evolving regional situation in West Asia and exchanged views on maintaining stability in the region.
According to official information, the meeting also covered aspects of India-UAE bilateral cooperation, reflecting continued engagement between the two sides.
Jaishankar’s visit underscores ongoing diplomatic outreach by India in West Asia, with a focus on coordination with partner countries and monitoring of the situation in the region.
The UAE hosts one of the largest Indian expatriate populations globally, with millions of Indians contributing to various sectors of the country’s economy. Ensuring their safety remains a key priority for the Indian government, especially during periods of geopolitical instability in West Asia.
