Asks ‘what did the party lose?’ as he alleges being denied speaking time in Upper House.

In his first public response after being removed as the Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha Deputy Leader, Raghav Chadha has questioned the party leadership, asking why he was being “silenced” despite raising issues concerning the public.
In a video message recently, Chadha struck a defiant tone, saying, “I have always raised the people’s issues. Have I done something wrong?” He went on to allege that the party had sought to restrict his participation in parliamentary proceedings.

“The Aam Aadmi Party has asked the Rajya Sabha to not let Raghav Chadha speak. But why? I have always spoken for the common man,” he said, listing issues he claimed to have raised in the Upper House — including high food prices at airports, alleged overcharging by telecom firms, concerns around toll plazas and banking frauds, and the plight of gig workers.
Chadha argued that these interventions had benefited citizens, questioning the rationale behind the party’s move. “After raising these issues, the common man benefited. But what has the AAP lost? Why am I being silenced?” he asked.
His remarks come a day after the Aam Aadmi Party formally wrote to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, requesting that Chadha not be allotted speaking time from the party’s quota. The party also nominated Ashok Mittal as his replacement for the Deputy Leader’s post in the Upper House.
The development signals an apparent rift within the party, even as Chadha positions himself as a voice for public concerns.
