Over 50 killed, key fighter jets destroyed as Indian forces launch retaliatory strikes on dozen PAF bases — global defense envoys briefed on strategic success.
In a devastating counter-offensive that shook Pakistan’s military establishment, India’s Operation Sindoor has reportedly crippled nearly 20% of the Pakistan Air Force’s infrastructure, destroyed multiple war jets, and left over 50 Pakistani personnel dead, including a senior PAF officer, according to top intelligence sources.
The meticulously coordinated air strikes — executed in response to Pakistani drone and missile attacks on Indian military sites and civilian areas — targeted over a dozen critical military installations across Pakistan. Key airbases such as Sargodha, Bholari, and Shahbaz saw massive destruction, with satellite imagery confirming the scale of impact.
Among the fatalities was Squadron Leader Usman Yusuf, killed alongside four airmen at the heavily hit Bholari Air Base in Sindh’s Jamshoro district. Several F-16 and JF-17 fighter jets stationed there were reportedly destroyed.
India’s retaliatory assault extended to Nur Khan (Chaklala), Rafiqui (Shorkot), Murid (Chakwal), Sukkur, Sialkot, Pasrur, Chunian, Sargodha, Skardu, and Jacobabad. Strikes were aimed at both air force assets and terrorist bunkers along the Line of Control (LoC), where 35–40 Pakistani soldiers are believed to have been killed in intense cross-border artillery exchanges.
The Indian Armed Forces released visual evidence on May 12, showcasing the damage inflicted on enemy airfields and the successful neutralization of several Pakistani drones and missiles by India’s air defense systems.
On May 13, Lt. Gen D S Rana, Director General of the Defense Intelligence Agency, gave a comprehensive classified briefing to Foreign Service Attaches from 70 countries, highlighting the strategic success of Operation Sindoor. He detailed India’s precision targeting of terror-linked infrastructure and the multi-domain operational synergy that defined the strikes.
“The operation demonstrated India’s technological superiority across kinetic and non-kinetic platforms—including space, cyber, and electronic warfare,” said a statement from the Headquarters Integrated Defense Staff (IDS).
It emphasized the role of indigenous force multipliers and a joint-service application of military power in achieving swift and decisive results.
Rana also addressed Pakistan’s ongoing misinformation campaign and its threat to regional stability, underlining India’s whole-of-nation approach to rapidly counter false narratives with verifiable facts.
Operation Sindoor marks one of the most forceful and publicly acknowledged Indian military operations in recent years, signaling a firm doctrinal shift toward preemptive and precision-based deterrence.
