Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath officially acknowledged the deployment of the BrahMos missile during Operation Sindoor, reinforcing India’s assertive posture in combating terrorism. Speaking at the inauguration of the BrahMos missile testing and manufacturing facility in Lucknow on May 11, he remarked,
“You must have seen a glimpse of the BrahMos missile during Operation Sindoor. If you didn’t, then just ask the people of Pakistan about the power of the BrahMos missile.”

The Chief Minister's remarks not only confirmed the missile’s role in the recent strategic operation but also emphasized India’s unwavering resolve to take decisive action in the face of terrorism. Echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s firm national security doctrine, Adityanath stated,
“The problem of terrorism cannot be solved till we don’t crush it completely. To crush terrorism, we all have to fight together in one voice under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership.”
He further reinforced the necessity of a proactive and firm strategy, noting that acts of terror require a language of strength and not reconciliation.
“Terrorism can never accept the language of love. It will have to be answered in its own language. Through Operation Sindoor, India has given a message to the whole world,” he asserted.
Highlighting the strategic and economic significance of the BrahMos facility in Uttar Pradesh, the Chief Minister noted that this development not only strengthens India's defense manufacturing capabilities but also positions the country as a missile exporter to friendly nations.
He shared that seven ancillary units will be established alongside the BrahMos plant, further boosting the state’s role in national defense production. He also mentioned that PTC Industries, a private sector defense manufacturer located in Lucknow, is undergoing significant expansion.
The BrahMos facility is part of India’s broader defense indigenization drive under the 'Make in India' initiative, aiming to reduce dependence on foreign military technology and enhance self-reliance. With these developments, Lucknow is emerging as a prominent hub in the country’s growing defense ecosystem.
