The plea filed by a fourth-year law student sought Kejriwal’s interim bail in all criminal cases registered by the Enforcement Directorate and the State till the completion of his tenure.

The Delhi High Court on Monday rejected a petition seeking "extraordinary interim bail" for Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on the ground that his safety is in danger as he is confined with hardcore criminals.
The plea filed by a law student sought Kejriwal’s interim bail in all criminal cases registered by the Enforcement Directorate and the State till the completion of his tenure.

The petitioner mentioned his name as "We, the people of India" in the plea, claiming that he does not want any name, fame, or money from this matter, according to media reports.
However, the HC said that Kejriwal is in custody by judicial order and noted that the law is above every person in the country. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 75,000.
The HC said, “He (Kejriwal) is in custody by judicial order. The matter is pending in Supreme Court. Who are we to advise him? Who are you? You have some exaggerated opinion of yourself.”
The court asked the petitioner, a law student, if he attends college and has good attendance. The court also took note of the fact that the petitioner belongs to a registered political party.
Senior Advocate Rahul Mehra, who is appearing for Kejriwal, called the PIL 'completely impermissible' and ‘misguided’ and said the petitioner was making the court a political platform.
Mehra also pointed out that the same bench had earlier too dismissed pleas seeking the removal of CM, following his arrest and the most recent one was dismissed with a cost of ₹50k.
