Uttar Pradesh ATS has dismantled a Pakistan-backed terror module allegedly planning attacks on railway infrastructure, arresting key operatives and seizing incriminating materials during the operation.

The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has busted a Pakistan-backed terror module that was allegedly planning attacks on railway infrastructure in the state, officials said.
According to the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad, the module was operating with support from handlers based in Pakistan and was targeting critical railway installations to disrupt public transport and create panic.

Authorities have arrested multiple suspects linked to the module. During the operation, officials recovered materials and electronic evidence indicating plans to carry out sabotage activities, including targeting railway tracks and related infrastructure.
Investigators said the accused were in touch with Pakistan-based operatives through encrypted communication channels and had been receiving instructions and logistical support. The module is believed to have been active for some time and was under surveillance before the crackdown.
Officials added that the suspects had conducted reconnaissance of railway sites and were allegedly preparing for coordinated actions aimed at causing large-scale disruption.
Security agencies are now examining the extent of the network and whether it has links to other modules operating in different regions.
The crackdown comes amid heightened vigilance across key infrastructure sectors, with security agencies on alert over potential threats to transportation networks. Railways, being a critical public utility, remain a high-priority target for security forces.
Further investigation is underway to identify additional operatives and uncover the full scope of the alleged conspiracy. Authorities have not ruled out more arrests in the coming days.
