Renowned filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has expressed his frustration with "random individuals who believe they're creative prodigies". In a recent Instagram post, Kashyap announced that he will now charge a fee to meet new people.
He stated, "I have spent a considerable amount of time assisting newcomers, only to be left with subpar work. Henceforth, I don't wish to squander my time meeting random individuals who perceive themselves as creative prodigies. I will now implement rates."

Kashyap further elaborated, “If someone wishes to meet me for 10-15 minutes, I will charge 1 lac, for half an hour 2 lacs, and for 1 hour 5 lacs. Those are the rates. I am weary of wasting time meeting people. If you genuinely believe you can afford it, contact me or steer clear. All payments must be made in advance.”
In response to his post, his daughter Aaliyah Kashyap wrote, "I will forward this to everyone in my DMs and email who persistently send me scripts to pass on to you."
Celebrities also reacted to Kashyap's post. Shahana Goswami commented, "But wouldn't people who can pay for your time likely waste your time just as much, if not more? I agree with the first part, but then perhaps don't meet anyone. Let fate guide you to your collaborators." Kubbra Sait simply said, "Amen!!!!!!!!!"
In other news, Kashyap recently revealed that he will make his acting debut in Malayalam cinema with director Aashiq Abu's forthcoming film, Rifle Club. He shared this update on his Instagram.
Rifle Club, penned by Sharfu-Suhas, Dileesh Karunakaran, and Syam Pushkaran, also features Dileesh Pothan, Vani Viswanath, Vijayaraghavan, Vincy Aloshious, Ramzan Muhammed, Surabhi Lakshmi, and Unnimaya Prasad. The film is set to release during the festive period of Onam in 2024.
