  1. Tata Technologies InnoVent:

Tata Technologies launched Tata Technologies InnoVent, an innovation platform for young engineering students to showcase their creativity and innovative solutions. The platform offers third and fourth years engineering students an opportunity to address the most significant challenges and problems in the manufacturing industry.

The teams shortlisted by Tata Technologies will be offered tools and experts for their mentorship and guidance. The organization has put a cash prize of Rs 4.5 lakh for winning teams. The duration of the registration is July-Aug 2023 and the virtual POC presentation will be held in October. The final demo of the project will be held in Dec 2023.   1. IIT Mandi Launches Five New Programs: Admissions Based on JEE Advanced Ranking

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi will introduce five new programs in the upcoming academic session of 2023-24. These programs are designed to equip students with specialized knowledge and skills in emerging fields.

The new courses include B.Tech. in General Engineering, B.Tech. in Microelectronics and VLSI, B.Tech. in Materials Sciences and Engineering, B.Tech. in Chemical Science, and B.Tech. in Mathematics and Computing. Admission to these programs will be based on the students’ JEE Advanced ranking.

  1. IIT-Delhi to set its international campus in Abu Dhabi

The second international campus of the India Institute of Technology is now ready to set up in Abu Dhabi, the U.A.E. In the presence of Prime Minister Modi and Abu Dhabi’s President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Indian Education Ministry and Abu Dhabi’s Department of Education and Knowledge with IIT-Delhi for setting up its campus. Set by the IIT Delhi, the campus is expected to offer programs in Energy and Sustainability, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science and Engineering, Healthcare, Mathematics and Computing and many others.

  1. Common Counselling Platform for CUET-PG to be launched by next year: UGC Chief

In a conversation with The Indian Express, Prof. M. Jagadesh Kumar, Chairperson of the University Grants Commission, revealed that the body will start a project for common counselling for all central universities of India.

Recently, many students raised their voices against colleges and universities that do not make their cut-offs public making them blindsided in getting admissions into central universities.

  1. NEET PG 2023: Counselling schedule released. Registrations begin on July 27

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) on Friday released the schedule for counseling for NEET-PG 2023. Students who have registered can check the schedule on the official website of MCC- http://mcc.nic.in. The counselling for NEET-PG 2023 will begin on July 27, and registration for the first list will schedule on August 1 at 12pm, with payment gateway being opened till 8pm.

  1. IGNOU launches PG diploma course in Services Management

On Tuesday, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) to introduce a Post Graduate Diploma course in Services Management, starting in July 2023 session. Students can check the details over https://ignou.ac.in, with July 31 being the deadline of the registration for the course. The fee of the course being capped at Rs 20,000, students of chartered accountancy/cost accountancy/company secretary can opt for the course.

  1. Education Minister launches AI skill training course in Indian languages

On July 15, i.e. World Youth Skills’ Day, the Minister of Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan, launched AI for India 2.0, a free AI skill training course in Indian languages. A joint venture of Skill India, National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), IIT Madras and the ed-tech firm GUVI, this program has been curated in nine Indian languages.

  1. UGC issues guidelines for the translation of books into Indian languages

On July 13, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has released guidelines for the translation of books into Indian languages on both national and regional levels. To facilitate this process, the UGC has recommended using, ‘ANUVADINI,’ an artificial intelligence translation tool developed by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). ANUVADINI possesses the capability to translate text files, enable speech-to-text typing, and support editing functionalities. Further, the body has also suggested to use the gloasssary developed on various subjects by Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology.

Being six months duration, this program aims to delve into the convergence of these powerful technologies, providing participants with invaluable insights into their transformative impact. The programme will offer participants a comprehensive understanding of how Web 3.0 is reshaping the internet, how social media is empowering social interactions, and how the emerging Metaverse is shaping digital experiences.
