The teacher allegedly thrashed the 5-year old kid for stepping out to buy ice cream.
A class 1 student was allegedly beaten by his teacher after stepping out of school to buy ice cream, prompting education authorities to order an immediate inquiry.
The incident took place on March 26 at a composite school in the Rewati town of Ballia district, where five-year-old Karthik Sahani reportedly left the premises to buy ice cream. Upon his return, his teacher, Rajnish Rai, allegedly thrashed him.
Speaking to reporters, Karthik displayed injury marks on his back, claiming they were a result of the teacher’s beating.
Basic Education Officer Manish Singh confirmed on March 27 that an inquiry had been launched after media reports revealed the matter.
"We have directed the Block Education Officer to investigate the incident and submit a report. Further action will be taken based on the findings," Singh said.
The case has sparked outrage, with parents and locals demanding strict action against the accused teacher. The investigation is currently underway.
