The verification measure aims to curb impersonation by matching signatures during examinations, while the board completes registrations and implements stricter identity checks for candidates statewide.

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has introduced a new identity verification measure for the 2027 board examinations by deciding to print students' signatures on Class 10 and Class 12 admit cards for the first time.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening the examination process, preventing impersonation, and improving transparency during board exams.

As part of the registration process for the 2026-27 academic session, the board is collecting students' signatures along with their photographs.
The signature printed on the admit card will be verified against the candidate's signature on the answer sheet and attendance register during the examination to confirm the student's identity.
According to board officials, the measure is expected to ensure that only the registered candidate is allowed to appear for the examination.
The decision follows multiple instances of impersonation reported during previous UP Board examinations.
Officials said cheating networks had allegedly used manipulated photographs to send proxy candidates, commonly referred to as "solvers," to examination centers. Several FIRs were registered in connection with such cases.
By incorporating signatures on admit cards, the board aims to tighten identity verification and reduce the scope for examination-related malpractice.
Meanwhile, the registration process for students appearing in the 2027 High School and Intermediate board examinations is currently underway and will remain open until Aug 5.
The board has also announced the schedule for private candidates. Principals of forwarding centers can accept application forms and examination fees from private candidates through Aug 5.
The last date to deposit examination fees in the treasury through a single challan is Aug 10. Candidates who fail to meet the deadline may still submit their fees with a late charge of ₹100 per student until Aug 16.
UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh said school principals must upload students' academic details and examination fee information on the board's official website by midnight on Aug 16.
Schools will also have to submit the photograph-based list of registered students along with the treasury sheet by Sept 30.
The board expects the additional verification step to enhance identity checks at examination centers and make the 2027 board examination process more secure and reliable.
