The extension aims to support candidates who encountered delays due to document-related problems or technical glitches, following multiple appeals from students requesting extra time to finish their applications.
The deadline to apply for the UGC NET June 2025 exam has been extended by the National Testing Agency (NTA), allowing candidates to submit their online applications until 11:59 pm on May 12, 2025, via the official website ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
The extension provides relief to applicants who may have faced delays due to technical difficulties or trouble gathering necessary documents.
This decision was made in response to multiple requests from candidates seeking more time to complete the application process.
Aspirants are encouraged to carefully check eligibility requirements, enter accurate information, and upload all required documents well in advance to avoid any last-minute issues.
The UGC NET June 2025 examination determines eligibility for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor, and admission to PhD programs at Indian colleges and universities.
With the application deadline now extended, the fee payment window has also been updated.
Candidates can make fee payments through credit card, debit card, net banking, or UPI until 11:59 pm on May 13, 2025.
Additionally, NTA has adjusted the correction window for submitted applications. Applicants will have the opportunity to edit their details between May 14 and May 15, 2025, until 11:59 pm, using the same portal.
To complete the application, candidates must visit ugcnet.nta.ac.in, access the registration link, and create login credentials.
After logging in, they should fill out the application form with accurate personal, academic, and contact details; upload a recent photograph and signature; and pay the exam fee through an online method.
Once submitted, the completed form should be downloaded and saved for reference.
UGC NET is a vital examination for individuals pursuing teaching and research careers in India.
Conducted by the NTA on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC), it serves as a key qualifier for research fellowships and academic positions in higher education institutions nationwide.
