Rozgar Mela continues to boost employment with 51,000 new appointments

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 12 distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited government employees during the 16th edition of the Rozgar Mela, held simultaneously across 47 locations nationwide.

The event marked another milestone in the government’s continued efforts to boost employment and empower young Indians with career opportunities in public service.

Recruits will be joining a range of central government departments, including the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Department of Posts, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Ministry of Labour & Employment.

These positions were filled through various recruitment processes aimed at strengthening the country's public service delivery system.

Launched in 2022, the Rozgar Mela has emerged as one of the largest government-led employment initiatives in India, having already facilitated over 1 million job appointments.

It is aligned with the government’s vision of ‘Rozgar for All’ and focuses on developing human capital by efficiently filling central government vacancies.

The initiative offers a stable, service-oriented career path for job seekers and encourages a culture of merit, skill development, and public responsibility.

“For students and young professionals across the country, Rozgar Mela represents a robust opportunity to secure government employment. The event encourages aspirants to focus on competitive exams, skill development, and public service—essential pillars in India's employment ecosystem,” the government said.
