Mittal secures the second term as Secretary General of AIU, reinforcing her impact on India's higher education landscape.

Pankaj Mittal has been re-appointed as the Secretary General of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) for a second term.
This marks a significant milestone in AIU's 97-year history, as she is the second woman to hold this position.

Mittal has over three decades of experience in higher education, including senior roles at the University Grants Commission of India (UGC).
During her first term, Mittal implemented innovative practices and reforms at Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, North India's first rural women's university.
Under her leadership, the institution provided education from kindergarten to PhD levels to 7,000 girls, gaining a reputation for blending traditional and modern education.
Mittal is a Fulbright Scholar and holds an MSc and PhD in Agricultural Statistics from IARI, New Delhi.

She has represented India internationally, presenting papers at conferences and promoting academic exchanges.
Her contributions to policy planning and management have earned her respect in the field of higher education in India.
