The NTA announced that there will be two stages to the JEE Main for the Academic Year 2025–2026. The dates for the first and second sessions are scheduled for Jan 22–31, 2025, and April 2025, respectively.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 exam schedule on Oct 28. Additionally, the registration window for eligible candidates to submit their application forms online is now open at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The NTA notice states that there will be two stages to the JEE Main for the Academic Year 2025–2026. The dates for the first and second sessions are scheduled for Jan 22–31, 2025, and April 2025, respectively.

“For the Academic Session 2025-26, it has been decided that the JEE (Main)-2025 will be conducted in two sessions: Session 1 (January 2025) and Session 2 (April 2025),” reads the NTA notification.
The application deadline for the JEE Main 2025 Session 1 exam is November 22 by 9 pm, and the payment deadline is 11:50 pm.
The notification adds that there will be two papers in the JEE (Main) test. Admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E./B. Tech.) at NITs, IIITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), as well as institutions/universities funded or recognized by participating state governments, will be determined by the results of Paper 1.
Additionally, it will serve as the qualifying exam for JEE (Advanced), which is required for admission to IITs.
For admission to the B. Arch and B. Planning programs, Paper 2 of JEE (Main) will be conducted.
The notice further states that 13 languages—English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu—will be used for the JEE (Main)-2025 exam.
There will be two shifts for the JEE Main exam: 9 pm to 12 noon and 3 pm to 6 pm (IST). Multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and numerical value-based questions with negative marking for incorrect answers are included in Paper 1's sections on mathematics, physics, and chemistry.
A single application must be submitted by each student. Multiple applications will lead to disqualification.
“Under no circumstances will candidates be allowed to fill out more than one Application Form. Strict action will be taken, even at a later stage, against candidates who have filled out more than one Application Form,” reads the notification.
A candidate can register for the Session 1 (January 2025) exam and pay the required exam fee, according to the NTA notice. Candidates may apply individually for Session 2 (April 2025) using the same application number and pay the fee; a separate notification will be sent out for this.
Since the NTA will only provide information and communications via email to the registered email address or SMS to the registered mobile number, candidates must ensure that the email address and mobile number they submit on the online application form belong to them or to their parents/guardians.
Candidates can email [email protected] or call 011-40759000/011-69227700 if they are having issues applying for JEE (Main) 2025.
